Psalm 90.12 – “So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
I recently learned that the human heart actually contains about 40,000 neurons of different types called the “heart” brain. The heart brain works and communicates with the “head” brain but can act independently as well.
I believe it is our heart brain the Scripture verse above is referencing. As we walk through this life, it’s how we live that bring our hearts wisdom, joy, kindness and LOVE!
And, I believe we never, ever really reach a point of saying, “We’ve arrived!” Everyday is a new opportunity to grow. Grow in our faith to God. Grow in our love for others. Grow in our understanding of this beautiful world. Grow in knowing ourselves.
Tomorrow begins a new year and since I do not know what tomorrow holds for me, my resolution is to “get a heart of wisdom.”
